Aloha.

Welcome to our second annual island-wide seminar, Solutions 2003: Neighborhoods In Action, sponsored by Plan to Protect and partially funded by the Atherton Family Foundation.

Our top priorities identified last year will be the focus today: Drugs, Traffic, Property Crimes, Animal Control and Manpower/Staffing. Today's goal is to identify the top issues in each area and create achievable plans to address our united concerns. Also, by attending this seminar, "we" will be able to share insights and experiences from various types of communities, neighborhoods and areas of expertise.

I would like to thank all of you for participating in this second annual island-wide Solutions: Neighborhoods In Action seminar. I hope "we" will leave here today with better "tools", information and contacts to improve better partnerships within "our" communities on the Island of Hawaii.

Mahalo,

Lilian Beaufrere
Chair
